Things Lauri & Laurens like to do around here:
Sunbathe by the lake with a good book. You can pretty much put your towel anywhere around the lake — it’s allowed.
Rent a boat. No boat license needed.
For the sporty people: go for a run around the lake.
Do a bike tour around the lake. Try to stay as close to the lake as possible. A few parts are on asphalt, but most of it is very worth it! It’s about 50 km, but it’s quite heavy, so don’t underestimate it ;-)
Best to make it a full-day adventure, wit lunch, drink and swimming stops. We usually rent mountain bikes at Angolo Bike Shop in Bolsena. Message them in advance to reserve one.
Go for a walk / hike. Put on your walking shoes and go be one with nature for a bit.
Visit cute little towns nearby. Our favourites are: — Tuscania, Pitigliano, Sorano, Sovana, Bolsena, Civita di Bagnoregio (very beautiful, but also: a lot of walking — wear proper shoes) and Montefiascone.
Visit a slightly bigger city: Viterbo, Orvieto.
Take a day trip to Rome About 1.5 hours by car.
Take a day trip to Perugia Also about 1.5 hours away.
Eat ridiculously well! Honestly, you have to put in serious effort to eat badly in Italy. We usually just check Google reviews. Booking ahead is often a good idea.
Have an Aperol on a sunny terrace. This is not optional ;-)
Practice the art of dolce far niente - also known as: doing absolutely nothing and calling it a lifestyle. As you should!
